If there’s one thing people love to talk about, it’s coffee. Everyone likes to chat about a good beer, wine, or cocktail, but those are generally saved for after the work day. Coffee is appropriate anytime, anywhere.
Franklin didn’t start as a city known for its coffee, but over the years, artisanal baristas started moving in, and now you have more than a few shops to choose from. I’m not one to look down my nose at Starbucks or Dunkin Donuts. They are good in a crunch when you have only a few minutes and need to be back out the door, or when you’re on a road trip when gas station coffee just won’t do. But when you have time and are looking for a place with a good coffee vibe, try one of these local shops.
Honest Coffee Roasters
Located in The Factory in Franklin, this coffee shop is a bit hidden away. Go inside and try not to take too many pictures of Honest Abe. This shop is on the smaller side, but it is cozy. If all the seats are taken, you can stroll into the main atrium of The Factory and sit in some big, comfortable chairs.

A block off of Main Street at Five Corners in downtown Franklin sits a house-like coffee shop known as the Frothy Monkey. Frothy isn’t just known for their brew, they also have delicious food and pastries. I recommend the Monkey Mocha!

High Brow Brew
I was pulled to this shop by the Instagram posts of a worn American Flag. I spent a morning working at a window seat listening to the baristas and locals banter and eyeing delicious Five Daughters’ cronuts.

The Coffee House at Second and Bridge
With bookshelves to browse, and with couches and dinner tables as seating, the Coffee House is exactly that: a house. They brew locally roasted Bongo Java coffee and serve breakfast, lunch, and early dinner.

The Good Cup
A cozy mish-mash of coffee and color, The Good Cup offers friendly service and a comfortable atmosphere.

The Perch is known primarily for its crepes and other excellent breakfast offerings. But they also have a good hold on making a delicious latte!
